This combo pack contains the two foundations of a healthy reef biome: live phytoplankton and copepods. You'll get both Dinkins Aquatic Gardens Snacklebox™ Three Species Blend of Copepods and our Six Species Live Phytoplankton Blend.
Reef Snacklebox™
Corals absolutely LOVE copepods, and the copepods will feed your picky fish such as mandarins, wrasses, and pipefish. Pods also play a significant role in keeping your tank clean. As tiny detritivores, they eat leftover fish foods and other waste products. Since they are so small, they can fit into all the crevices of your live rock, eating food particles that settle where the rest of your cleanup crew cannot reach.
Copepods can be added to a new tank as soon as the cycle is completed (ammonia reaches zero). Adding copepods so early can significantly help reduce the severity and duration of the dreaded new-tank "ugly phase." If adding pods to a new tank with little detritus or uneaten food, be sure to feed them an adequate amount of phytoplankton.

Live Phytoplankton
Phytoplankton is the basic building block of the ocean food chain. It adds biodiversity to your tank, while directly feeds corals, clams, copepods and other filter feeders. The copepods and other microfauna which feed on our live phytoplankton will in turn become food for your fish and corals.
Our live phytoplankton blend contains six different strains of phyto to provide balanced and well rounded nutrition for your tank’s inhabitants. Corals are like all other animals - they need a wide variety of minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids for optimal health. Simply feeding one or two species of phyto won’t provide the diversity of nutrients that our six species blend offers.
Our phytoplankton should be stored in the refrigerator and given a gentle shake every couple days. If stored like this, it should last at least two months.
